Professional Cookery student graduates from SRUC

Professional Cookery student Gordon Cronshaw is enjoying the taste of success after completing an HNC at Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC).

The 19-year-old from Edinburgh was awarded the Inner Wheel Club of Cupar prize for best first year Professional Cookery student.

He is now planning to continue onto HND level at SRUC’s Elmwood campus in Fife – with a long-term ambition of running a restaurant kitchen.

“I’ve always enjoyed helping in the kitchen at home whenever I could, whether it was baking or making something for dinner,” said Gordon. “I chose SRUC as I felt that it was the place where I could not only develop the basic skills that I already had, but also learn new skills as well.

“I value the time and effort that all the lecturers put in to help me and the other students. They were more than happy to go out their way whenever I needed a bit more help in my work – practical or theory based.”
