Student Profile – Dominika Fularczyk

Dominika Anna Fularczyk is from Darlowo in Poland which is a small, seaside town in the north of Poland at the Baltic Sea. Dominika is studying Garden Design at SRUC Edinburgh and forms part of the team displaying the show garden “Life Line” at this year’s Gardening Scotland event. Here we find out more about her.

Describe yourself: I am a very ambitious person who never give up. If I start something, I will not give up until I Dominikafinish it. I have come a long way to be who I am and where I am. Gardening has always been a great passion for me. Spending almost all my life in the countryside I am very connected with nature. I quickly became interested in gardening, planting flowers and vegetables first, taking care of my own garden and then choosing my career in gardening. Studying Garden Design at SRUC let me combine my love of gardening and allows me to express myself and my creativity.

Favourite design style: I like naturalistic styles, Arts &Crafts, with lots of different plants, colours, shapes. But I also like to challenge myself by connecting different design styles and creating something unique, different.

Design Icon: I take inspirations from many different designers but lately I am fascinated with Sarah Price.

What’s your motto? ‘Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else’ – Judy Garland

What are you most looking forward to at Gardening Scotland? I just can’t wait to build this garden. I love to create something from the earliest stages to the end. I am already excited to see this design on a paper and all these preparing works and I can not wait for the final results at Gardening Scotland 2020.
