SRUCSA Sports Day at Oatridge
On 23th May 2018, SRUCSA organised it’s first ever Sports Day. The event was held at SRUC Oatridge Campus during lunchtime and was supported by the Sports and Activities Officer Michaela and SRUC’s Learner Engagement Officer Paula (as well as our mental health friend Shady the Black Dog)! The main focus was to give students the opportunity to play different sports that they might not usually play.
The programme started in the morning with registration and an introduction. Every participant received a pair of rainbow laces from Scottish Student Sport, as well as a water bottle and a healthy fruit snack. At noon there was a group warm-up and then the games began. Events included a football match and a badminton match. Students showed a great effort – some of them were on exchange for a week from America, it was great to get them involved! At the end, players were rewarded with medals and other prizes.
Feedback from students on the inaugural event was positive and the aim is to grow the event in the future to include more students from accross SRUC.
Stay tuned till the next Sports Day happening on your campus.
