The impressive bedding carpet was designed by former Fife Council employee John Cunningham to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Cupar Floral Art Club.  SRUC Elmwood translated the drawing from paper to petals on the impressive bedding area.  All SRUC Elmwood Horticultural students have been involved in the display, one way or another, over the past 9 months as plants have been grown and propagated on the Elmwood campus.

The display itself took around two weeks to complete and has been an unusual and interesting project.

Horticulture Programme Leader Phil Watkin said,

“The Horticultural department at SRUC Elmwood are very happy to have been involved with this prestigious part of Cupar’s floral tradition. Carpet bedding is sadly becoming a dying art and the students have learnt a great deal under John Cunningham’s expert guidance.”
