Not a bad view from the Office!

Euan Stoddart, an SVQ3 Oatridge student, works at Stirling Castle, and has a pretty enviable view from his office!

What a View!

What a view!

Euan joined Historic Scotland in 2019 as an Apprentice Gardener at Stirling Castle after working in Outdoor and Garden Centre Retail / Plant Nursery for nearly ten years. Utilising his horticultural knowledge from previous employment and his SVQ 2 in Horticulture Euan has the privilege of maintaining both the Queen Anne and Douglas Gardens at the Castle. Euan loves maintaining the rose and herbaceous borders as well as the vast lawn areas around the castle plus chatting to the thousands of visitors who visit the castle.

Everyday can be different  due to the exposure of the Castle to the elements. Mother Nature can very much dictate work patterns.

After completing his SVQ 2 with us Euan is now progressing onto SVQ 3 based at SRUC Oatridge Campus. Well Done Euan and good luck with the SVQ 3.
