As part of their program the group must learn to make recommendations for fleet machinery purchasing to individual golf clubs. There remains much debate as to the advantages of leasing, purchasing and financial contracts, as well as evaluating machinery efficiency and performance.

Sandy Armit, Managing Director of Double A, John Deere’s Partner in Scotland commented:

“We are delighted to be involved in educating the greenkeepers of tomorrow”

John Deere currently supply the Elmwood Campus Golf Course with a fleet of machinery, and the partnership now supports industry visits such as this, awards of merit and course resources.

Ian Butcher, subject tutor said

“Industry partnerships are key to bringing  those preparing for management careers face to face with modern challenge and solutions. We hope they can use visits such as these to hit the ground running when they enter the workplace and even move the subject forward with fresh ideas. “
