Engineering study tour

NC engineering students at Jaguar Land RoverThe NC Engineering students from Barony embarked on their annual study tour.  They had a very interesting four day tour, leaving Barony on the Monday morning and travelling down to Jaguar Land Rover, where they got an excellent tour of the factory, where they saw production of the vehicles from a roll of sheet to switching on the ignition.

On the Tuesday they visited JCB in the morning, for another inspiring tour, followed by some time out and an enjoyable afternoon at Alton Towers.

Drax Power StationWednesday was a tour of Masson Mill, a water powered cotton pinning mill, followed by a visit to Drax Power Station, and also Euro Auctions, auctioneers of heavy plant machinery, construction and agricultural equipment.

The last day of the trip was an outing to British Steel.  All in all an extremely informative and fascinating study tour enjoyed by both students and lecturers.
