Aberdeen students aim high in the Cairngorms
SRUC Aberdeen’s 2nd Year Countryside Management and Rural Business Management students enjoyed a visit to Rothiemurchus Estate, Aviemore. The students undertaking the unit, Tourism and Sustainable Rural Communities visited the Estate to gain an awareness and understanding of the sustainability issues of tourism in rural areas. The students learnt about how the Estate manages the high levels of Tourists visiting the area and were given a tour by Alph MacGregor, Countryside Ranger to the key Tourist points on the Estate. The students also heard a talk from Heather Trench from the Cairngorm National Park on what the park is doing to support local business and communities to ensure Responsible Tourism remains a vital part of the Parks future.
